WHAT? This is a rewarding career in which you are able to help individuals, families, and businesses select insurance policies that provide the best protections for their lives, health, and property. Examples of types of insurance sold are property and casualty, life, health, disability, and long-term care. Insurance agents prepare reports, maintain records, and seek out new clients in order to provide them with advice on how to minimize risk as well as best possible options for each client’s circumstances. WHERE? Insurance agents may have the opportunity to have flexible schedules depending on the setting in which they work. Many work in offices, while others create their own schedules and travel extensively to make sales.
HOW DO I GET THERE? For Insurance sales agent jobs, many companies and independent agencies require a college degree in business, finance, or economics. If this career sounds intriguing to you check out the CEHD degree in Business and Marketing. Aside from a Bachelor’s degree, be sure to check out license requirements based on the state in which you are applying. Insurance agents must obtain a license in the States where they sell.
