Project for Pride in Living: Teaching positions

Project for Pride in Living currently has the following two teaching positions open:
Secondary Math Teacher
The responsibility of this position is to facilitate a positive learning experience for high school students in Math and build and support the agency’s mission of encouraging self-sufficiency through education and employment. (School is a member of the Metropolitan Federation of Alternative Schools, accredited by the North Central Association and is a Minneapolis Contract Alternative Program).
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education or equivalent; a State of Minnesota Certification in secondary mathematics required; training and experience in alternative school setting preferred; training and experience in behavior modification techniques and class management preferred; and experience working with diverse at-risk youth population (i.e., ethnic, cultural, economic, etc.).

Early Wonders Preschool Teacher

This position is responsible for coordinating daily learning environment and activities by interacting with children individually and as a group, following the mission, philosophy, expectations, reporting and curriculum each day. It is important in this role to facilitate a positive learning environment with the other teachers by team teaching. The position will also demonstrate policies and procedures stated in EWP’s handbook, NAEYC accreditation, MN Rule 3, Licensing, Strong Beginnings and PPL; Assess children’s development using the High/Scope COR assessment tool and Ages and Stages Questionnaire; and use High/Scope curriculum in conjunction with the Reggio Emilia approach.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development; training and experience in working with diverse families; training and experience in behavior modification techniques and class management; and training and experience in team teaching. Along with good interpersonal relations skill; good oral and written communication skills; demonstrated leadership skills and an ability to work cooperatively with staff, parents and administrators.
