CEHD Career Services
CEHD Career Services, located in 360 Education Sciences Building, is focused on engaging teacher candidates in all aspects of their career development and job search. They provide:
- Education resources, which includes the teacher job search timeline, sample resumes and interview questions, job outlook data, and success stories from past students.
- Access to Handshake, which is the University’s job posting site, to find teaching positions and sign up for career events.
- Tailored Career Events such as the MN Education Job Fair that puts you face to face with potential employers.
- Call 612-625-3339 or visit the Career Services website to make a one-on-one appointment with a career counselor.
Plus, as an Alumni, you will continue to have access to all Career Services benefits for up to two years after graduation.
CEHD Undergraduate Student Board
The College of Education and Human Development Undergraduate Student Board is the official undergraduate student government for CEHD at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. The mission of the board is to be the voice for the CEHD students and organizations, to enrich CEHD students’ learning experience, to provide academic-related services to CEHD students, and to provide leadership opportunities to the CEHD students. From our Homecoming Parade to Alumni Networking Events, students are provided with support and connections to advance their careers. The student board is also represented at most college events and volunteers in the community together. Student Board members are also involved in standing committee activities within the college. Any undergraduate student in the College of Education and Human Development can become a member of the board. Learn more about the Board and get involved!

After graduation, there are numerous ways to stay connected as alumni, including the University of Minnesota Alumni Association. You can stay connected to CEHD by attending social, academic, and career events, volunteering your expertise, and keeping us informed about your updates and accomplishments. Boynton Health is open to all students. Whether you have a family doctor or haven’t seen one in a while, you are always welcome to come here for your healthcare:

- Gopher Quick Clinic: offers convenient care for minor illnesses. We diagnose, treat and write prescriptions during shorter, more focused visits than a typical primary care visit. Visits are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Depending on demand, wait times vary.
If you are not sure if you should see a doctor, or which clinic to visit, call our Nurse Line at 612-625-7900. Calls are answered seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
Safety on Campus
The safety of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors is incredibly important. Students receive real-time safety alerts via text message, and alarm buttons and emergency phones are located throughout campus. Parking facilities, skyways, and tunnels are monitored 24 hours a day with the aid of security cameras, and campus escorts are available to bike and walk with you to and from campus locations and nearby neighborhoods – just call 612-624-WALK.

U Card Office
U Card is the official University of Minnesota photo ID – make sure to have it with you at all times while on campus. You will use it to access campus buildings (including residence halls), pay for meals, check out library materials, and more. Your U Card also contains your Gopher GOLD account, our campus currency and the only way to pay for printing on campus. You can also store up to $1000 in Gopher GOLD value on the card.

Community Child Care, Commonwealth Terrace Cooperative
Community Child Care Center (CCCC) is a NAEYC accredited, fully licensed child care center located in the Commonwealth Terrace Cooperative (CTC) on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. Services are provided for families of the CTC community, University of Minnesota students, faculty, and staff, and the surrounding communities.
The Community Child Care Center offers flexible scheduling for children ages 16 months to 5 years, year-round Monday to Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. They offer sliding fees for University of Minnesota students; breakfast, lunch and snacks provided; waiting list priority given to University of Minnesota students.

Como Early Learning Center
Como Early Learning Center is a non-profit childcare center serving children ages 16 months to 5 years for families of the University of Minnesota and surrounding community. Como Early Learning Center is a NAEYC Accredited, four-star Parent Aware rated program that features low teacher to child ratios and class sizes. Lactation Information
You deserve support no matter how you choose to feed your baby. Your right to breastfeed your child is protected under state and federal law. Space/rooms are available to people who are breast/chestfeeding and need to pump during their time on campus. Please see a list and map of public lactation spaces on the Twin Cities campus here. The Student Parent Help Center also offers resources.
Child Development Laboratory School
The Child Development Laboratory School (CDLS) is home to two long-standing, high-quality early care and education programs that have been serving the University of Minnesota and Twin Cities communities for decades. CDLS offers a full-day, year-round early childhood education program for students, staff, and faculty affiliated with the University of Minnesota (U of M) and a part-day preschool program that is available to all families throughout the Twin Cities.
CDLS was formed in 2021 after the Shirley G. Moore Laboratory School’s part-day program and the University of Minnesota Child Development Center’s full-day program united to form one learning community. The combined program is academically and administratively housed in the Institute of Child Development (ICD) and integrated with the department’s research and early childhood education training programs. The CDLS has received a Four Star Rating from Parent Aware and is accredited by the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Overall, it serves about 240 children through both of its program options each year.

Student Groups
Council of Graduate Students (COGS)
The Council of Graduate Students (COGS) is the Recognized Student Governance Association (RSGA) at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities campus that represents, advocates for, informs, facilitates communications among, and supports Twin Cities graduate students (students who are seeking a research degree: a Ph.D. or a Master’s that is associated with a Ph.D. program).
All COGS-fee paying graduate students are members of the COGS General Assembly. Each graduate program can elect one voting General Assembly member amongst all their graduate students to represent their program. COGS provides services such as: grants, social, co-curricular and education events throughout the calendar year.

Professional Student Government (PSG)
The professional student governance on the Twin Cities campus of the University of Minnesota rests with the Professional Student Government (PSG). All currently registered professional students at the University of Minnesota are members of PSG.
PSG represents and serves students in the Carlson School of Management, Law School, Medical School, Dental School, School of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, School of Public Health, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Education and Human Development, and Humphrey School of Public Affairs. PSG is a resource for its 10 member Councils, the primary contact point for administrative units, a professional student policy-making and policy-influencing body, and as a center of inter- and intra-collegiate interaction among professional students.

Student Writing Support
Student Writing Support (SWS) offers collaborative one-to-one writing consultations to help student writers develop confidence and effective writing strategies. Writing consultants will listen to your goals and concerns, read and respond to your written work, prose questions that help you clarify and articulate your ideas, and affirm the experiences and abilities you bring to your writing. We value your life experiences and languages, and we seek to provide a supportive space for you to share and develop your voice. . University Student Legal Services
Student Legal Service offers advice and legal representation to students at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities campus. Our services are available to all UMNTC students paying the Student Services Fee. SLS intake staff will help you determine your eligibility.
Some of the practice areas where we can offer advice and representation include tenant rights, criminal cases, immigration, consumer, employment, wills, health care directives, power of attorney, name change, and gender change.
At SLS, we have six full time attorneys, two paralegals, two support staff, one law clerk, and two student employees. Because we are an office just for U of M students, we are able to focus our practice on the legal issues that are often unique to students.
