As said before, I have completely fallen in love with this whole country. The past few days have been my favorite. A few days back, we spent the day at a small village outside of Chiang Rai. What they have, and what they call home, is slim to nothing. They have the bare minimums; a roof over their head, food, and a mat to sleep on at night. Yet, they are the happiest people I have ever came across in my mere 22 years of life. They are happy due the small fact that they have their family and friends by their side. They could go to the big city if they wanted to, they could run away from it all if that’s what pleases them the most. But they don’t. They stick to that, because that’s all they want, it’s all they need. That simple fact, opened my eyes to see my family, for who they are. The fact that my family is so close and I can count on them for anything makes me feel so blessed, and I have to stop sweating the small things. Even though we may fight sometimes, I just have to shrug my shoulders and look past it. Because in the end, if you have your family, that’s all that counts.
