Josh Leigh – Teacher Educator Technology Integration Coordinator
What did you want to do or be when you were eight years old?
I wanted to be an astronaut.
What are your top three passions?
Running, spending time outside, and trying new foods.
What one event in your childhood had the greatest effect on your life?
My relationship with my grandparents had a huge impact on the trajectory of my life. Their kindness, generosity, and constant support helped set the foundation for how I interact with others.
What’s the most unusual place you have visited?
When my brother, mom, and myself visited Japan, we visited the Shinjuku area at night. The neon signs, sounds, and people were overwhelming and slightly disorienting. It was a fantastic time; highly recommended.
Bio
I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a BS in Elementary and Middle School Education and went straight into the Peace Corps. I spent more than two years teaching, learning, and living in Thailand. My time there was spent surrounded by wonderful people and delicious food. Upon returning to the States, I began working as a 5th grade teacher at the very same elementary school I attended as a student. For seven years, I worked with an amazing staff and fun students. During this time I completed my masters in educational technology from Concordia University in St. Paul. As the TETI Coordinator, I now work with Teacher Educators to implement new technologies into their courses.
